Voice Search Optimisation: Is it Important for your Business?

Voice Search Optimisation is important for your online business if you are looking to stay up to date with the latest SEO trends and standards. If you’re not jumping on this band wagon, then know you could be missing out on potential leads and sales.

Many people are now using their electronic devices to input voice commands, rather than manually typing everything out. For many people, especially the younger generation this is simply easier and a faster way to get the results they are seeking.

Through different applications such as Google Assistant, Bixby, Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri, people can consume information easier than ever before, in turn minimising effort and freeing up their time.

So what does this mean for your business?

If you are looking to extend your business’ reach, increase traffic and generate leads, then it is vital that you can be found by your audience, wherever they are and whatever search engine they are using.

Just as you would optimise your content and SEO for other search engines, you should also be optimising for voice search queries.

This includes using appropriate longtail keywords and key phrases. People don’t speak in keywords, even if that is how they would type in a search engine, so you need to adapt accordingly. Write your key phrases, how your audience would speak them. Use natural and conversation-friendly key phrases in the SEO aspect of your website.

Keep in mind, the majority of voice search is done through the use of mobile phones, so it is a good idea to ensure your website is mobile friendly and optimised accordingly.

  • Use shorter paragraphs.

  • Have CTA’s higher on your page.

  • Reduce your webpage load time.

  • Keep your design simple.

  • Optimise your navigation.
