How to Boost Engagement via Interactive Content

One of the most important aspects of a digital brand aka your business presence online, is customer/audience engagement.

And no I don’t mean how many likes you get, while it certainly helps social media algorithms if your posts are getting likes, it’s not the end all be all.

Digital engagement is not about how many followers you have, or how many likes, it’s about how many people see your product and as a result, engage with it or take action as a result.

This is why it’s important to know your audience, and target them specifically, those people who your product or services are actually going to help, and those who will actually take action and invest.

Realistically, it is better to have 10, 100, or even 1000 loyal customers who will buy your product, support your business and choose you every time, then it is to have 1 million followers who may see your product, but won’t engage, because at the end of the day they are not truly your target demographic. If you can find 1 million loyal customers then that’s amazing and your offer must be incredible, however for most businesses it is just not plausible, to assume their product/service is suitable for everyone.

So how can you boost your engagement, and learn what your audience actually want from you?

The answer… is interactive content.

Ask your audience what they want, interact with them, engage with them, show them that you are a real person, build their trust, and listen to their feedback. Sometimes it really is that simple, and the more you listen and refine your brand, the more sales and genuine leads you will receive.

Now some of you might be thinking, of course Kaeleigh, we do this already and it just doesn’t work.

But what I need you to understand is that there are hundreds, if not thousands of ways to include interactive content into your digital strategy, and if you haven’t yet had success, it is because you haven’t found the best way to interact with your particular audience, because no two audiences are the same.

This is why I stress, that in order to be successful, you must know your audience. Who they are, what their pain points are, what type on content they interact with and what motivates them to take action. As well as what type of awareness they have in regards to your product and why they need it.

If you know you audience as you know your product or service, then you know how they interact, use it.

As the world becomes more digitally inclined and endless content can be found at the touch of a button, it is vital that business owners adapt and find ways to engage, captivate, hold the attention of and build genuine connections with their targeted audience.

Gone are the days where an audience wants to simply watch from the side lines, many crave being a part of the story, to have their voice heard, and to feel included. This is what makes interactive content so effective and powerful.

It gives a voice to your audience, it makes them feel seen, heard and opens up two-way feedback, which as a business owner is important for you to learn how to adapt to your audience’s needs.

Interactive content can appear in many forms, including quizzes, forms, surveys, questions, live streams, forums, behind-the-scenes updates, video content, and heaps more, but the most important factor is that you are opening up communication, for a form of conversation to happen, between you and your audience.
